About Nevill Hall Hospital
Nevill Hall district general hospital was opened in 1969 and provides inpatient, daycase and outpatient services together with a complete range of investigations. The hospital is a designated major trauma centre with the Accident and Emergency department.

Adult Medicine (165 beds), Paediatrics (27 beds), Rheumatology (10 beds), General Surgery (82 beds), Urology, Gynaecology (16 beds), Obstetrics (31 beds), Orthopaedics (75 beds), S.C.B.U (15 beds), ITU/HDU/CCU (7 beds), Anaesthetics, Pathology, Microbiology, Orthodontology, Palliative Medicine, Private Ward (10 beds), Medical and Surgical Assessment Unit (8 beds), Medical Day Unit (4 beds), Day hospital places for the elderly (20 beds), Day Surgery/Endoscopy Suite recovery places (29 beds).
Other Nevill Hall Hospital services include:
Community Child Health Services, Cardiology , Oral Surgery , Ear Nose and Throat , Ophthalmology (including day case surgery), Oncology, Oral Surgery, Dermatology, Plastic Surgery, Integrated Cross Sectional Imaging (Magnetic Resonance and Computer Tomography scanning), Psychiatry, Cardio-thoracic Surgery, Clinical Genetics.
At weekends the facilities of the outpatient department are used by local G.P.s for the holding of their surgeries.
Post Graduate Medical Centre
There is also a new Post Graduate Medical Centre on site (opened January 2002) which hosts multi-disciplinary training in a range of specialties as well as providing specific teaching for doctors in training. Recent events include:

Registrars from all over Wales, the highly acclaimed 4 monthly M.R.C.P. course, a series of practical tutorials for G.P.s, a Presentation Skills course for overseas doctors run jointly with Gwent Tertiary College.

The picturesque town of Abergavenny is a busy market town set in some stunningly beautiful countryside on the edges of the Brecon Beacons National Park. A whole host of attractions including a Theatre, Leisure Centre, numerous Castles & Antiquities & excellent walking possibilities to name a few.
